Moisture and ventilation
Cooking, showers, drying laundry and everyday breathing all put water into the air. If that air is not moved on, it settles on the coldest surfaces. Window glass is often that surface, especially overnight when outdoor temperatures drop on high ground across Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire.
Trickle vents, extract fans and simply opening a window after a shower all play a part. New frames can include trickle ventilation, but they do not replace the need for moisture to leave the room.
What a survey looks for
A surveyor will ask where the water appears — room-side glass, between panes, or on frames and reveals. Mist between sealed panes can point to a failed unit. Room-side moisture more often points back to indoor humidity and cold surfaces. We do not invent climate statistics for the ridge or quote building-warrant rules you have not been given; the visit is about your openings and how the house is used.
